He was a well-known and beloved face on Médi 1 and 2M, where he held several important roles, including director of programs and information, as well as anchor.
Born in Casablanca in 1954, Omar Salim, whose real name was Salim Ben Ammar, studied at Lycée Lyautey before pursuing higher education in France. Theater was his lifelong passion, and in 1980, he made his debut at the radio station Médi 1 in Tangier, where he demonstrated his talent and dedication to journalism.
After leaving an indelible mark on Moroccan audiovisual media, he devoted himself to writing. As a gifted writer, he penned several autobiographical books, most notably the highly acclaimed « Le Placard » (The Closet). His writings showcased a sensitivity and depth that touched the hearts of his readers.
